The crib is READY!!

Here it is!  Chris put the crib together last Sunday.  It looks so good!  Our neighbors Liza and Rick from across the street has a three year old son who just got a brand new toddler bed.  They came over and asked us if we needed a crib.  We told them we were interested and went over to check it out.  It is a beautiful, white iron bed.  I love it and it matches the other furniture in the room.  We are so excited and we can't wait until we use it!  Now I am trying to find curtains... any suggestions?

First Shower!

This past Saturday was my first baby shower hosted by Shelby Scott and Katie Carroll (pictured above) and it was attended by my mom, mother-in-law and my friends from Sunday School.  The theme was Jimmie Johnson and it was awesome!  Shelby and Katie incorporated Jimmie's colors (blue and silver) and Katie even made Tennessee cookies in honor of Chris!  Katie and Shelby did an awesome job hosting the shower... the food was amazing!  We even played a game where everyone submitted Nascar driver names for Baby Obo when he grows up and decides to be a driver!  I am so blessed to have the friends that I have from the 2 and zero Sunday School class.  Thank you to all of you for the gifts... we got a lot of useful items for Baby Obo.

Stay tuned for the crib pictures!

Eight Months!

We have hit the eighth month mark!  Tomorrow I will be 34 weeks... 6 weeks to go!  I can't believe it!  So much as happened in one month.  Chris and I went to the Mary Immaculate Hospital tour on February 3rd.  We loved the hospital and we have decided to deliver the baby there.  We registered and got a chance to talk to some of the nurses... it was a very relaxed atmosphere.  As we were leaving I saw Andy Hudson, who I work with at the school.  His wife delivered on February 2nd.  Chris and I got a chance to see their son and visit with them.

Yesterday, on Valentine's Day, we attended the childbirth class at Mary Immaculate.  It was a long, seven hour class, but we survived.  Chris did a great job being a coach... however, I wasn't in labor so it was pretty easy.  We learned about relaxation techniques, breathing exercises, and the stages of labor.  I hope we remember everything!  Our instructor was awesome and she gave us her number if we need anything or have any questions.

So far I feel great!  I am REALLY excited that I got into my Jimmie Johnson shirt!  I was nervous that I wasn't going to be able to fit in it for the biggest race of the season... the Daytona 500!  I am going to start walking on the treadmill this week and make my last attempt to do step aerobics.  I have to admit that it's getting very hard to see where my feet are going to land on a step.  It's pretty funny to watch me in the class.  Oh, by the way, a HUGE thank you goes out to the women in my step class for the "surprise shower" and the gifts.  I appreciate your friendship and your thoughtfulness!  I will miss you after I deliver, but I will be back :0).  The swelling has started in the feet as of the 33rd week; however, I can still wear my rings and watch... for now.  Physically I feel great and I have a lot of energy... I love being pregnant.  Baby Obo is constantly moving now.  He responds to my students, music, and loud voices and noises.  We can see him move across my belly and it's amazing to watch.  Many blessings and thank you for your continuous prayers for a safe pregnancy!

Seven Months!

Seven months pregnant!  I can't believe how fast it's going!  I am currently 31 weeks and I will be 32 weeks on Tuesday, but I took this picture three weeks ago.  Things have been very hectic.  I passed the fasting glucose test two weeks ago and Chris and I got to see Baby Obo on ultrasound three weeks ago.  He is definitely a boy and the tech said he looked and measured just fine.  We were very happy to hear that!

Chris and I finished painting the baby's room today and put primer on the wood paneling.  We will add a coat of paint on the paneling tomorrow before watching the Super Bowl.  We are still on the look out for a crib, but we have a dresser and changing table.  The dresser was made by my dad when my mom was expecting me so it means a lot to get the chance to use it for our little one.

I am still feeling well.  Only my right foot will get swollen at the end of the day so I have been keeping my feet up at night.  Chris and I will be going to Mary Immaculate to register and take the tour on Tuesday evening.  I have my 32 week appointment on Wednesday.

Gifts

Hello!  Here are two outfits that my parents got us for baby Obo.  The monkey is from Courtney.  I love all three of them.  The monkey will eventually hang from the crib and it will match the room perfectly!  Thank you mom, dad, and Courtney.

So Blessed!

Happy Holidays to everyone!  Sorry it has been a while since I have written to everyone.  Chris and I had a wonderful Christmas spending time with our family.  Courtney, my sister, came into town from Charlotte, N.C. and she got a chance to stay with us for a week.  Both of Chris's sisters came into town.  Sherry, her husband, and their four children stayed for one week in Williamsburg.  Susan, her husband, and their three children (and one on the way) are staying with us for two weeks.  We have had a blast spending time together and shopping.  Speaking of shopping, I got a chance to register at Babies R Us and Baby Depot (in Burlington Coat Factory) with my sister, mom, and my cousin April.  On Christmas Eve my sister in law, Susan, gave me an early Christmas present... you can see it in the picture.  If you can't see it, the shirt says, "Silent Night... Not for Long!".  I will upload six months pregnancy pictures next as well as some baby presents we have gotten so far!

6 Months!

Hello everyone!  I have reached the 24 week mark!  It's going by so fast.  Everything went very well with the doctor.  I am measuring in the normal range and my weight is good so far.  I feel good and I still have energy.  Baby Obo has been doing a lot of somersaults lately.  I can definitely feel him kick and move around now and it's an awesome feeling.   My students now take turns reading to the baby.  Chris and I are preparing for family members who are coming in next weekend and the following week.  We can't wait to spend time with our sisters and family.  Stay tuned for some pictures!
