2 Months Old!

Boy does time fly!  Sorry we haven't updated our blog, but we have been very busy over the past month.  Benjamin is now two months old as of May 25th.  We took him to visit Dr. Baust for his two month appointment where he weighed 10lbs. 14 ozs!  He is now in the 50th percentile in weight, length and head circumference.  That's a big gain since he was in the 3 percentile a month ago! We are very happy and blessed that Benjamin is healthy and back to his happy self. Four weeks ago Benjamin was diagnosed with reflux.  Chris and I now give him rice cereal with his milk to make it thicker and coat his stomach.  He is feeling much better and he's a lot happier.

I went back to work on the 26th of May and it has been very hectic.  We have an AWESOME baby sitter who happens to be one of my parents of a student in my classroom.  She used to teach in Newport News and I am so blessed that she offered to take care of Benjamin for only three weeks.  It was hard leaving Benjamin for the first couple of days, but the baby sitter texts both Chris and I with pictures and updates throughout the day.  As I got back into the swing of things, I realized how much I missed my students and teaching.  However, we (Chris and I) decided it would be best if I stayed home and took care of Benjamin so I have resigned from my teaching position in HCS.  It was a tough decision, but I know I will never get back this time with Benjamin.  I can't wait to watch him grow and learn new things everyday.

I can honestly say that I LOVE being a mom.  My favorite time of the day is the morning when he wakes up.  Benjamin just looks at you and smiles. He has definitely changed our lives for the better... especially since he has been sleeping through the night, which conveniently started when I went back to work! He usually goes to sleep around 8 or 8:30 and wakes up around 5 the next morning.  Yea!

We will take Benjamin on his first vacation next week when we go to Nags Head with my parents and the Oostras (Dan, Summer, and Benjamin).  Chris and I are looking forward to spending time with friends and family and we will post pictures and updates more regularly... I promise!
